Ancillary Services are necessary services needed to support the capacity and transmission of energy from varied resources to residential, commercial, and industrial load customers while maintaining power quality and reliable operation of the grid. These services are contracted and utilized by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) which is in-charge of operating, maintaining, and developing the country’s power grid.
Situated in strategic locations in Cebu and Panay Island, GBP’s power plant facilities comply with NGCP’s stringent technical requirements to be able to provide Contingency Reserve, Dispatchable Reserve, and Black Start Ancillary Services to the grid, while providing Reactive Power Support (RPS) to maintain the power quality within acceptable limits.
