Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC) owns and operates 164 MW and 150 MW clean coal-fired plants in Iloilo City, Iloilo that utilize the Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boiler technology.
PEDC was born out of the need for adequate, reliable, and cost-efficient power supply in Panay Island. More than reducing the price of electricity, PEDC served a significant role in addressing the need for baseload power. Since it began commercial operations in 2011, PEDC has provided a steady electricity supply to key commercial establishments, the Iloilo International Airport and Boracay Island – spurring the growth of the provinces in Panay.
